"because of too many recent requests with us".
I'm confused - have had the card since September, with a $500SL. Asked for the first time 60 days out in November - denied for this? Also asked in Dec and Jan and this is what I get every month whereas other people get an increase every 31 days.
Anyone else experience this? I am fine waiting, but does anyone have any advice when to ask again? 3 months....6 months...
Not sure generally when Macy's issues CLIs, but it seems like you need to wait until you reach 6 full statements from account opening. Six months seems like the average time for most.
I think when I had an account, they gave me an increase after 6 months, but it was a small CLI in general(went from $300 to $500).
Echoing what's been mentioned above, I'd wait 6 months to see if that yields a CLI.
While there's a variety of reports of accounts receiving a CLI at such frequent intervals, not every account will qualify for the same results - it's all profile driven. Just be patient with its growth.

When you opened the account there was likely a link in terms and conditions for "what if I'm not happy with my credit limit" the link likely said "you can request a credit limit increase 61 day's after receiving your card and registering it for online access" (at least mine did).
It seems to me asking before the 61 days resets the 61 day clock. After your first approved CLI the 30-31 day request cycle seems to work.
While there is no guarantee it will work, I suggest waiting 61 days since your last denial letter before asking again. If denied again, possibly try again after 6th statement cuts and account is at least 6 month's old.
Best of luck on future CLI's from Macy's!
Great advice in this thread. If you're getting denied prior to 6 months then it's best to wait until 6 months to attempt another CLI. Some in here are able to obtain one every 31 days. I'm on the every 6 months wagon now with them.

It doesn't reset it. I asked at the 31 day mark and was denied with a HP. I asked 31 days later and if was approved with a SP. I ask every 31 days since and they were all approved with SPs until this last one when I used 30% of my limit. I'm being asked to call in now. I'll wait until I pay it off before asking again.

Yep, yep...agreed. ^^^^^ Patience really does win in the end.
I'm not patient, I always jump the gun. Instead of waiting a few months for a cli, I called in and requested one which meant a hp for the first cli. After that, sp cli's every 30-45 days. That's fun, I gotta admit, but what if you're denied? However, looking at it in the long run, instead of me waiting a few months for that cli, I now get to wait another 2 yrs for that hp to go away <---- me, laughing at myself.
If you're in it for the long haul, I doubt that hp cli would have gotten my cl any further along when all is said and done. It did break the ice, gave me instant gratification, which was a thrill, but still....is it worth it? Depends
Thank you all for the replies! Great advice. I'll check to see if I can get a CLI at 6 months. Just didnt want to aggravate them!

Nah, you're definitely not aggravating them at all 😊. Just don't get discouraged.
I realize this can happen at times when you see others getting the CLI "candy" and feel left out. Trust me, there's plenty of members who've been in similar situations and eventually these doors will open for you as well. Just keep using the card, maintain a positive history with everyone, and let time do it's thing.
Patience is key. I started with a $500 limit in December 2019 and by September of 2020, I made it to the max- $25k.
