Keypoint CU was legit for me. I did the same pre-qual at the beginning of the year and walked away with a $20K Visa and 2.25% financing on my daughters new Jeep. The loan agent I worked with was amazing and made everything super easy, especially considering I was using a dealership outside their network. Definitely one of the better CU's that I've ever built a relationship with!
Card design though, ew
Methinks CUs are good for loans, not necessarily CCs(major banks seem to have better reward structure)

Yeah, the KPCU Visa isn't anything to write home about rewards wise, and is one of the last 3 cards I have with the old school raised numbers from the imprinted charge slip days. When it comes down to it though, they've never become nervous and turned a transaction down on me like Chase has done to me a few times. If I do have any issues, I still have my loan agents email and direct number. Good luck getting that from any bank!
Did the application process go smothly? So CUs are very slow with applications and require every document under the sun before approval.

Didn't app, only tried pq and got quotes. As u said, generally CU requires docs(unlike PenFed), so didn't bother.

What did they require before approval for a credit card?

Mine did, no issues that I can recall. I remember submitting the CC app first, then once it was approved and Docusign docs were accepted, I went ahead and applied for membership. CC app was a HP on EX btw.

Not all CU's are created equal.
Some have been extremely proficient ..
Patelco and Affinity are some that come to mind.
I would say 8-10 CU's I have joined only required ID for membership and a CC.
Having said that, they may have a lot of data stored on me somewhere.?
And it is not LexisNexis ..as that was frozen years back.
