Kirklands store card now issued by Wells Fargo?

I had looked at applying for this card maybe a year ago, and I believe it was under Synchrony or Comenity at the time? I remember wondering if I was racking up too many cards with those lenders. So anyhow.. I was debating on applying now again since I do shop there during the hoildays and they do perks sometimes of discounts off if using a credit card.

Does anyone know how hard Wells Fargo is to get in with on store cards? I have several synch and com store cards.. no cards backed by WF.

It's been issued by Wells Fargo for years. Your brain probably just associates "store card" with Comenity and Synchrony.

When I went to the Kirklands site I found it confusing myself.

It seems that new accounts are issued by Wells Fargo.

However, there is also a link saying "have this version of the card" that takes you to a Synchrony login for the card.

I guess at some point Synchrony issued the account and continues to maintain the ones they issued?

Ha! Well I would think perhaps thats the case, since that's pretty much true! but they have this on the credit card page so.. at some point there was a synchrony version of the card, see the green card link below.

Well I answered my own question above about how hard is a wells fargo retail card to get approved for, by applying.. apparently they are harder to get approved for than Synchrony because I was denied.. bummer.
