Kohl’s Card. Approval or Denied

Does anybody know what this means? I got prequal for the Kohl's card and applied and got this. I called customer service and she said that since I just applied she can't tell but I'll be receiving the next steps by mail. Is that possibly to verify info? Tia

Pretty much the standard message for any submitted applications and it could go in either direction. Was this submitted via pre-qualification or a cold app?

@FinStar I did the prequal first and it said I qualified and even gave me some discount code. Then I did the application and got that.

I would just wait it out until you receive additional confirmation on the application. It's possible they may need to verify some additional pieces of information. There are instances in which it can yield an instant approval, but in a variety of circumstances additional processing time is needed.

I don't believe that the splash message alone can be an indication of an approval let alone a denial.

Same experience here. I prequalified through their website, and submitted the app and received the same message. I also called in and was told to look for additional info in the mail. Waiting for that letter.

@Anonymous Good luck to you also. A Facebook group that I'm in, someone also got the same message and they sent her a letter. They wanted her to verify her ID. She emailed it to them and got approved the same day. Hopefully we have the same luck.

That's good to know. My initial thought was that they needed to verify ID & was hoping to do that over the phone. I'll be patient & wait on that letter☺
