Langley CU

I recently applied for increase on my lower limit card 10K, I have 15K on other.

I was instantly approved received a call the next day stating they would email loan docs to sign. Never got email played phone tag for several days , finally got a rep on phone. Said sorry you were denied 😳

Stated exceeded excessive credit lines , (yes heard that before from PF) so why did you confirm online and through rep it was approved .

Honestly I am trimming the fat and they just moved to the front of the line . Will ponder this afternoon and then decide.

While I know it's just business and nothing personal I think I will keep my business with my other CUs. Not angry just giving a heads up from my experience

Re: Langley CU

While this was last year and I thought it was very much "COVID related" I too was declined for the same reason...though my request was for a new CC, not a CLI.  I didn't/don't have any credit products with them.  Closed my account and moved on....

Re: Langley CU

I personally detest Langley as similar things happened to me although no cards with them scores 800's all looks good and finalizing then end up in denial.  Closed out account and moved on.  They are looking for a certain profile and I am not it I get it, but be clear on your communication and don't avoid the AA letter etc I had to call them to find out it was ultimately denied etc.  Closed my account a year or two back and that is fine as stated they work for some and others they don't just like other issuers.   Their communication is the issue I have with them or lack there-of.

Re: Langley CU

I had a good experience recently. I applied for membership, checking account and credit card using the same EQ 9 pull in August. Everything via phone and email. Approved for all but the credit card was borderline approval until I prove myself. Wanted to use the same pull for a LOC but was deined. It was a stretch anyway. For me, the experience has been great. Good communication and service. I deinfitely look forward to expanding my relationship with them.

Re: Langley CU

Did you speak to someone when you applied? I first used their Chat feature, then the Rep set up a time to talk and did everything over the phone except for the Docusign docs which were emailed and executed during the call.

Re: Langley CU

Sorry for your denial.

I was denied for WF Propel for too many tradelines (23). I guess Langley will be a no go too

Re: Langley CU

Just in case anyone checks out the thread looking for this specific bit of information, I can tell you, per the representative I spoke to, that Langley FCU will hard pull your credit just for joining.

I considered opening an account with them as a prologue to applying for one of their credit cards next year. Though learning that just joining triggers a hard pull quickly scuttled that plan.

Moments later I called Affinity FCU, applied for a membership/savings account over the phone (only a soft pull with them), and learned of my approval while still on the phone with the representative. A snap.

I still plan to eventually try joining Langley, but requiring a hard pull puts them further back in the line of lenders for me.

No I did not , I applied online as I always have done in regards to Langley and then they called, but obviously wouldn't make a difference in their second thought decision.

I am with Langley. Online application was a softpull. If you use a rep, it most likely would be a hard pull.
