Im thinking about seeing if I can get another NFCU card before I hit the garden for a while. Overall Util 38% and score around 640. I know 640 is kinda low but they approved my second card at 615 for 15K. Is the Platinum card a good card to get or is the cash card better? Already have the Flagship and Gorewards cards. Also would like to get a CLI for my Flagship to get it ot 25K.
NFCU is very easy to get and will help with my UTIL in the long run. I am about to enter the garden once again and I think another NFCU card will look good with my collection. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
You don't say what your other cards are. I would recomend you diversify. You don't want to have all your credit eggs in one basket, so to speak. Your profile will be stronger with your credit spread out between multiple providers and that will give you some added protection in casse things go bad with Navy in the future. Just my two cents.

I suspect their algorithm will be more concerned with your 38% utilization (I'm assuming that's overall?) than your 640. If you had that utilization with a stronger score you might be OK, but the two together I'm afraid would mean a toy limit if you're approved at all.
