Re: Lowes Consumer Card - What To Do

I was denied just back in August, and approved a few days ago. Crazy, I know. Low limit of $300, but it will grow fast and I def won't be using it much.

Re: Lowes Consumer Card - What To Do

Just a quick update - the denial was because of number of recent inquiries and credit history - I just did start building a few years ago when I wanted to buy a house. I think the Discover approval and Exxon approval recently plus the Care Credit I got a few months ago may have affected it. I am going to give it a month and let these new cards report and see what happens. I have already noticed my TU has finally caught up to my EQ since I got the new cards, anyone else ever see like a 40 pt gap there before? I do have several large purchases I need to make at Lowes, so hoping to get this card soon and I also shop there frequently for side projects, would love that 5% off. I will update this post when I apply again!

If you're a veteran both Lowes and Home Depot will give you an automatic 10% off every purchase. Just have to ask before they ring you up.

Am I the only one that sees the person behind the counter is a Lowes regular everyday employee and has nothing to do with synchrony and their policies and procedures??? The only leverage I can see in store is synchrony feels if you are physically there you are ready to spend money.

The fact that you are applying in the store and ready to spend just may be the incentive to grant you credit in some cases where they wouldn't.  I don't think the rep would tell him that if it didn't sometimes make a difference.  Maybe I can somewhat test the theory, at least as far as credit limits go.  I plan to apply for a lowes card but I will do it in the store when I am ready to purchase flooring.  Hopefully this will better my chances.
