So frustrating when you get into a position where you've contacted in advance, explained the short term problem, asked for a simple arrangement for two months to get the family situated and the money flowing again...but nope.
Don't think anything will work. I understand that you probably had moving expenses that caused you problems with the mortgage, but if you had only been a few weeks late it wouldn't show on your bureaus.
Now you just have to not app or cli anything and allow time to kick in. The lenders feel you are a credit risk because if you are financially secure you would have had the money to pay the mortgage on time and cover relocation expenses.
An international relocation of a family of 5 is no joke.
tens of thousands of dollars. I can be very financially secure but not have that much liquidity, but I do get your point.
Employer reimbursed most expenses but most came out of pocket and I didn't get it back for 2-3 months. Not saying that changes the lenders viewpoint. ![]()

This is EXACTLY my case in point for a person having a fat profile with 6 figures worth of major credit lines available. That could have paid your mortgage payments on time until your reimbursements came through.

Don't disagree. At the time I didn't have a card with no foreign transaction fees so had to use cash for a lot of the expenses. Spent a month+ maintaining a home in the US + setting up house internationally as my family followed later. We made it through but at the time I couldn't figure out how to pay my mortgage with a card (hadn't heard of things like chargesmart at the time or I would have taken the fee, would have been less than the late fee). I got one paycheck from my prior position toward the middle/end of June and then didn't get anything until the middle of August. We made it through relatively unscathed except for the mortgage. Between relocation, home repairs (fixing up the place for rent), etc. I spent thousands in a couple of months. Ah well, we will keep trucking along and I'm going to start giving the GW letters a shot. There is my sob story. Lol, 720 scores, 6 figure income, but these dings hurt.
