MACY'S APP INSTORE

So I've been wanting a Macy's acct for a while....Went to mall and applied...Got paper saying we'll contact you 7-10 days...The clerk was so loud saying they'll let you know why you didn't get approved...ugh...Can you say embarrassed......lol....So I know they pulled EX...Are they inquiry sensitive?.....

Re: MACY'S APP INSTORE

It's a bit late to ask if they're inq sensitive.....

I had one in the past and they didn't seem to be overly sensitive IIRC but, then again this was 5+ years ago already.

What about the card pushed you to drive to the mall vs applying online?

I know in the past you had to apply in person for the Amex version but, I think there's been changes to that whereas you can get one online now.

Re: MACY'S APP INSTORE

See, I would have been even louder than her—“I didn't hear you! Can you say it any louder, Miss?”

Yep, what’s that saying. “You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.

Dont ever let a CR who gets a
commission if or when you are approved make you feel embarrassed. Stuff happens.

I’ll never forget when my Macy’s card was declined and CR said all loud with people in line, “did you pay your bill?” If looks could kill, she would have been dead. I said, “call whoever you have to call because my card is good!” I didnt have to look behind me to see other customers were rolling their eyes. She called, they asked to speak to me, asked a couple of ID questions and apologized profusely. I was purchasing a GC and since I hadn't used my card in almost a year—reason for the decline.

Re: MACY'S APP INSTORE

Macy's is one of my latest cards (had more than 20 inq when I applied)

I don't think they're inq sensitive nor new account sensitive, especially for their store cards.

What are your scores?

Re: MACY'S APP INSTORE

Macys is bleeding out as a major retailer. They are in dire need of new card holders especially with Holiday season approaching.
