I have been trying to successfully get a Macy's CLI to no avail. I have dealt with the same rep both on chat and secured message center. I know I just opened the card, but I tried telling the lady that I am looking to stock up on things we'll need once our home remodel is complete and the $300 limit is simply too little for the things I need. I think I am going to give the card a few more months of general use and then try for a CLI...if they deny it then, I think it will be finding a nice place in my sock drawer. They won't even counter offer.

This is why up I should applying in store. But. Keep doing what you said. It will grow. I started at 300. A year ago. I guess from their view point. They gav me 4 times. Now at 1200. I won't even bother to use except for a pair a socks. And some underware every 6 months.

Re: Macy's CLI denied

It's kind of petty for these stores to hand out $300 limits when things in their store are about half the limit already.

I was first approved back in 2012 with a 300 limit, then increased to 600 then 1200, then added a furniture accout for 2500 and now have been approved for the $1500 macy's american express. So be patient! I know its frustrating, but it does just take time.   Smiley Happy

The op never posted what her credit score is or what her accounts and account limits are and AAoA. A $300 limit must mean her file is thin or she could have gotten a $1000 starting limit.
