Might I get approved for a Fidelity card despite having a score in the 650s?

Fidelity two months ago sent me a $150 offer to apply for their 2% cash back card. My credit score is between 630 to 650 from having a 120 day late payment 4 and a half years ago. Fidelity knows my investment portfolio, and they know I can cover whatever limit they offer. I'm nowhere close to bankruptcy, and can't they just sell my assets if I'm late by 120 days?

I have been trying to raise my score since prior to receiving the offer and plan on applying for the card the day before their offer runs out. Think they might approve me still?

Without seeing your profile, we can't help too much as far as advice concerning helping your score. If the 120 day late is your only derog, I'm going to guess you have major utilization issues with scores that low.

It will be helpful if you list all your credit card limits and balances as well as any loans you may have, and any other derogs on your report.

No they can't sell your assets in your Fidelity account directly or specifically 401k and the likes.  Fidelity card is a card by UW by Elan/US Bank.  They certainly could sue you if account was to be charged off.  As others stated hard to believe one 120 day would put your score that low and other things are going on being CO's or utilization, etc.  Better picture would help but with that said some people get into this card with scores somewhat similar.  One thing is guaranteed in the credit world is nothing is guaranteed.  People can have a perfect 850 and be denied while others can have scores in the mid 600's and be approved for what we never imagined.  A HP isn't the end of the world if you want to roll the dice.

And they be more or less stringent during parts of the year as risk tolerance fluctuates.

That was the only card I had. I usually do not use credit. Was raised to avoid debt.

I got approved when credit score was 700. I had one chargeoff (3 years old) and one 30-day late (3 years old).

I remember being rejected when credit score was 680 and one chargeoff (18 months old).
