Re: Multiple Recon Attempts on Chase Sapphire

I also had the Primary user remove me as an AU from the less than 2 year old account last week.

Often you need to file a dispute with the CRAs to get the account completely removed.

Thanks irish80.  That's good to know.  I'll do that now.

Re: Multiple Recon Attempts on Chase Sapphire

I disagree with the 5/24 rule and also on waiting out the processing time.

I was on the same boat as you. Apped for CSP on Wednesday, got the 7-10 day message. Called backdoor, was transferred to lending dept. Was told app was denied due to too many new accts (was at 5/24 because 2 AUs got me to 5). Explained that I never used the cards I was AU on so they pushed to recon. After 45 mind of multiple questions and hold times, was told app was being recommended for approval and needed 24-48 hours to process. Called again today (2 days later), was told app was denied again due to short credit history (oldest card is actually 11 years old and AAoA is 4.3 years). Pushed for recon again and 1 hour of more questions and hold times, I was finally APPROVED with a 5k limit!!

Long story short, YMMV always, so if you really think you can push it through, go for it!!

Re: Multiple Recon Attempts on Chase Sapphire

Waiting would be the best move. It sounds like they may come back and approve, and being that the 5/24 was in question, I wouldn't push it.

This is almost my story exactly.  Well, it's Tuesday and still no word - and definitely no new account online.  I suppose I'll give them another call this afternoon and see what gives?

Re: Multiple Recon Attempts on Chase Sapphire

They do keep track of how many times you call so just be aware of that. And I would let it ride out still as it was a holiday weekend and I'm sure they need to catch up a little. I would just keep checking the automated app status line.

Re: Multiple Recon Attempts on Chase Sapphire

And the saga continues.  I did go for another recon yesterday afternoon.  The CSR said she would also recommend the app for approval and that the previous CSR didn't make good notes on the account and that was probably why it was taking so long.  She said she added the appropriate notes, recommended it for approval, but it would still take 1-2 more weeks to process.  Sheesh.  I'm not calling again until I get snail mail.

Re: Multiple Recon Attempts on Chase Sapphire

Still in limbo.

Robo lady says under review 7-10 days as of this post.

I'm 2.5 weeks in at this point.

But man, now I wish I would have waited.  I've had some major credit breakthroughs this week.  On a whim, I gave a ring over EX and got a super nice lady on the phone that was nice enough to drop my 1 collection that was set to drop off in Sept.

I have two released tax liens on my report that arent scheduled to fall off until 2021 so I figured I try her on those, too.  Wham! she dropped them all and my EX FICO shot from 679 to 744!  Boomshakalaka!

I figured what the heck and called TU.  I had a different collection, also about to fall off in September, and the two tax liens.  TU killed the collection, but nothing on the liens as of yet.

I think I'll give EQ a ring now and see what happens.  I hear they are the worst of the 3 to deal with...
