So I applied and was denied in January. They pulled EXP, where score was at 655. Since then I've PIF a CO and reduced balances, as they were listed as reasons. My EXP jumped to 690, better chance right?? I was wrong!! They pulled TU, which still didn't update. No official response yet, but doesn't look good. Maybe it's not meant to be.

Even though you paid the CO it is still on record that you had a CO and Chase can see that. It may be too soon for them that you just paid it off and they may want to see a bit more history after the fact.

+1 Even if they had pulled EX they still might have denied but you never know. Give it some time to update on all your reports. Also how old is the CO? Paid or not it could factor into an approval or denial. I got in with chase with scores in the upper 600's or just over 700 with a both a judgement and an an auto CO but they were both over six years old so that could have been why.
Just wait. Never know.
I got in with a CO. PIF for 13 months, I think that since it had been paid and closed for over a year, they gave me a shot. Took several weeks for an approval though. They pull EX every time (twice) for me. 660? On Approval.
Side note: discover wouldn't approve me until the CO was deleted, and it's still on EX so AmEx is just a pipe dream.
