My EX was 703 and I have a BK7 4 years ago. My util is about 25%, AAoA is 9 years, no baddies since BK7, and only 4 reporting as IIB.
So good luck everyone who decides to apply.
They NASA seems to really be inconsistent with approvals lately, their reasoning for denial is quite generic. I have heard of few ask for recon maybe you should consider it as well.

I also filed CH13 in 2009- Discharged(PAID)11/13. MY EX is 660 with 1 collection to fall off soon from 2009. I will try again when my EX score goes up and the collection falls off.. Maybe they don't like BK's
The NASA Shuttle (ship) has sailed.
Unless you're spotless, you'd probably have better chances getting a Duck.

Yup...I got on the ship last Nov for membership and was approved but denied CC....don't remember why the denial.
So a couple wks ago, app'd again with a HP to EX for a CC, and denied....They used the EX mortgage score which was 686...my EX 08 was 717 and Bankcard 08 was 729.
I sent a recon letter through their SM emailbox almost 2 wks ago, still no response. i also sent a follow up letter the middle of last week, still no response.
And the single reason for the 2nd denial: " Too many open/revolving accts and/or borrowing capacity". Eh, maybe....19 cards for $160k + in CL's with $100k income. I know I'm getting close to maxxed out.

My denial was for the exact same reason. $0 balance on all but three and < 3% util and they still denied me. NASA is a giant waste of effort.

Most of these CUs to me have been a gigantic waste of time for me to apply for quite honestly. At least with even Barclays, you know what you're gonna get.
I can understand why they can work for others but eh.

+1 to NASA being a giant waste of effort. Just because of additional age on some cards and additional on time payment history + my reports being spottless/free of any derogs I figured I'd try NASA again. Yet again they gave me the generic too much available credit (I do have over 100k+ of avail credit). However with the same on my reports NFCU gave a 13k starting limit no questions asked... so yeah some CU's are good like that while others are just yeah NOT lol. Plus my local one People First up here in PA gave 6k already over a year ago with no issue at all (even with a couple really old derogs on my reports yet). So, some CU's are really decent while others aren't is what I can surmise from it.

Typically, unless something has changed from a U/W perspective, their lending committee may yield the same outcome. AFAIK, while some high CL approvals may still occur, they are not as prevalent compared to last year's mega-ark of approvals. Let alone if that is one of the main reasons they listed for being declined.

Yeah, probably so. And that is THE one and only reason they stated for denial. I tried callng at 4:25 today...office closes at 4:15. Seriously?
If nothing else, I want to tell them about themselves and how their CS sux. It's been 2wks since I sent a letter.

IIRC, their lending/review committee used to meet once a week for these types of reviews (not sure if that's still the case). You can always try to contact them tomorrow and check the status of your request.
