Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I'm looking to add a few reward cards to my portfolio, namely(amex bce/ED and Discover). I only have the QS(3000) in my name and AU on barclay rewards. Should i apply for 2/3 in the same day? or spread it out a little? not sure how to go about this. 1ex inq, 2 tu, 4 ex. 6 yr AAOA
I'm fresh out of an app spree so I can share my experiences:
1. Apply for not more than 10, preferably within the same day (this will help the dent in your score)
2. In case you want multiple apps for the same bank, suggest you use different browsers OR 1 phone and 1 browser trick might do.
3. Take care of issuers like CapOne who'll triple pull. I'd suggest you do a homework of who pulls whom....most banks and FCUs pull Experian but some do triple pulls.
4. Always recon if you are denied. Better chances that way.
5. If you have good credit (what I see from your siggy), my view is not to go for store cards - unless you require it absolutely
It does not matter how you do it. But if those are the only cards you need, then do it all in one day so that you can get it over with and let them age. As long as you don't have any baddies on your report, you have a strong of getting all of them.
Thanks for the info @ Posiedon. I was thinking about applying for the amex bce and maybe the delta amex from the same bank. 1 on my phone and computer simultaneously but im not sure about applying for 2 revolvers at the same time with them and meeting the spending requirements. So I may hold off on the delta amex since my trip wont be until later this year. Though 1 inquiry for 2 would be nice. Discover pulls eq and tu mostly from what ive read
I do have a public record(paid tax ien from 2010) and lates on student loans from 2012, so that's my worry. Amex has been sending me offers for the bce and ED so that's why i was thinking about going with them. So hopefully I'll have a good shot

This is strictly my view. Use your judgment.
If there is a pub rec - I'd keep Amex for the last since I heard they don't treat pub records kindly. Other banks might be a good bet but it all depends on what you are after - higher limits or balance transfer terms or lower APR....

If you can afford the HP, then give it a shot. But keep in mind those mailers are not guarantees and you can't still get declined.
