I applied last night, both went pending. Woke up this am to the sound of two texts at 5:50 am. One was for a TU inquiry and the next said I was approved for the cloc. Does that mean the full $15k since they didn't ask if I'll take less?

Still waiting to hear on the CC. I saw an alert this am that EQ was pulled, just haven't heard yet. I know it's really early but if those cloc underwriters are busy this early shouldn't the cc folks be too 😃

Oh good!

Did it say approved or pending approval? The reason I ask is because mine said pending approval (they had a counter offer) and I had toverify income (but we wwon't talk about that haha)

They pulled TU on me last night.........go for it and use the CL to pad your utilization.

Re: NFCU Approval Odds - Thoughts/Suggestions?

Well the CC was flat out denied, I'm stumped, especially given the CLOC approval so quickly. There's got to be something on EQ they didn't like. I'll take a look at it and then send off a recon request. See if that gets me anywhere.

Re: NFCU Approval Odds - Thoughts/Suggestions?

I rejoined NFCU about a month ago.  After reading about the successes of NFCU on Thursday morning i applied for a Go Rewards credit card and by Thursday night i was approved for 5K  Friday morning i applied to refinance my car and Friday afternoon i was walking out of NFCU with a check in hand at a finance rate of 5.19% compared to 18%.  Since, i was on a roll, i thought about applying for a personal loan, but decided i wouldn't press my luck so i didnt.  This forum is great

I would apply for the $15,000 checking line of credit right now though and really if you have a use for a personal loan you can apply but in all honesty you're probably better off with somebody like Sofi or credible or loanme where you can get actual rates and pre-approvals on sp and only take hp if you move forward with offer

Ok...you MUST app for the CLOC...'RIGHT NOW!

Why, now?

B/c the same HP that you just used for the auto refi is what they'll use and since the loan dept just approved your auto

the odds are way LIKELY they'll at least counter your request for a 15k CL and you've got nothing to lose the HP has already happened so coast

yourself into another TL.

@(I did the EXACT same thing in Feb. got the 'check in hand' @ 5.09, apped for the CLOC requested 15k = approved...again it's there for the taking plus

the LOC will add to your overall revolving CL, which will help your util % and IMO might be more useful than a 1 time personal....of course depending upon how large of a PL needed...

Either though 'owning' a LOC provides lomg term options, to good top pass up, if one can get it.

Even using the LOC just to help reduce one's debt ratio, in turn raises one's score thus making the chances and terms of a subsequent PL better.)
