NFCU CC Rates

New to the forums but a long-time reader and huge fan. I recently joined NFCU through my fiance who is a member. I was going to use them for an auto loan, but ended up getting a 0% deal through the manufacturer. I am leaning towards the Cash Rewards, but am considering the Flagship. My EQ score is 745 with 8 inquiries, and my TU score is 765 with 2 inquiries, relatively low utilization, no negatives whatsoever, AAoA is about 3 years, decent income. I know it's a YMMV thing, but generally speaking, what type of SL and APR could I expect? (Highest limit currently is my $20k Amex BCE)

Re: NFCU CC Rates

Well earlier this week I was approved for a Flagship at $17600 and 11.24%

My TU was 710

No inquires other than joining NFCU

AAoA 10 years

Utlization 33%

No negatives

Previous high credit limit $6100

Income right at $90000

So I think you would kill  it. If for some reason you didn't improve your limit or rate after a little use.

Good luck.

Re: NFCU CC Rates

I agree, I think OP would hit a home run from Navy. They will more than likely pull TU for credit card applicaitons.

I was approved for $23,700.00 at 14.9% but my TU is lower like 720's with LOTS of inquiries.

Re: NFCU CC Rates

Thanks for the feedback guys. I noticed it seems to be a bit of a toss-up between NFCU pulling TU or EQ for a credit card. I would prefer TU just due to the somewhat high number of inquiries on my EQ report

Re: NFCU CC Rates

From what I've read they pull from TU for membership and CC's and EQ for the CLOC. They pulled all of mine so quick I couldn't tell the difference, but it seems to be the common wisdom. YMMV

This is usually correct haha. I have had NFCU hit my EQ for a CLI request though. Always a YMMV thing. Although they refused to pull anything but EQ both times I apped for an auto loan.

From me joining recently and getting a CC and a CLOC that was the case for me as well.

Re: NFCU CC Rates

You should definitely get a nice limit with your situation. In fact, probably 23-25K. The APR can be hard to guess, but I'm sure it will be on their lower end.
