Quick question..
So I applied for a CLI and was denied. Sent a secure message and was still denied. I was pretty baffled considering I waited the right amount of time and that the card was used responsibly, and the credit report they pulled was from TU which is my best.
Well, I got the letter today and it says that TU reported my score as a 618. On here my TU has consistently been floating in the 670s-678s so I am wondering why the big discrepancy?
Do they use a different version of the scoring model or something? Thanks
NFCU uses a FICO model that is not FICO08 (which is what you get on this site). I believe it's FICO04? Someone with more knowledge can correct me, but I do know they don't use FICO08.

When they've pulled my TU, it was the 04 model.... which lucky for me... is higher than my 08.

Well that makes sense. Just looked and my FICO 08 is sitting pretty at 682 while my 04 is 610. That sucks. I was feeling good about that cli considering Amex just gave me a card with a 4.5k limit.
Just keep doing the right thing by your existing creditors and that 04 score will go up.
TBH, I never paid attention to any score but '08 and went on my merry way acquiring a handful of cards, using them, paying them in full (or close to it), and in the 3 months between opening the NFCU account and my last CLI with them, they bumped me $4,500 and I had *no* idea what my TU04 was at either time.
