Sorry to hear that
.
You could always SM them and see if they would consider a secured (if you want one that is).
Although I would have to agree that even as generous and 'forgiving' as NFCU is, your scores may be a tad low. But never give up, the DW and I had a secured card for 2 years then early last year we moved all our banking to them. Subsequently, like within a week of doing that DW got goRewards with $4000 with around 600 scores. Three months later we re-financed our car thru them and I got a cash rewards with $3000, and my scores at the time were hovering from 575 - 600.
So there's hope!!!! Just stay the course!!
Hmmm, when I applied for the 5k rewards card(and got approved), my scores were at best 550 across the board. I also had at least 12 unpaid items on my report(all medical bills from multiple surgeries), including 3 public records which consisted of said medical bills(2 of the pr's were paid, the biggest one was not). I had just recently gotten 2 secured cards for $1k(they were like 6 months old).
I would open up a navy secured card.

I would say get a secured card to build history while fixing your credit then when you get into the 600s comfortably go for an unsecured card and then the sky is the limit from there.
I went from 500$ secured card on 2/12/15 maxed util % then got new lower balances reporting got big bump in scores applied for cash rewards 2/27 approved 1k 15.65% Today same card haven't even gotten it in the mail and they account reviewed eq then HP upon CLI request approved 5k
I think in less than 1 years time you should be doing very good and be on way to 700 club your in the right place!!!!!!!!
Yes. My new scores are TU 578. EX 612 EQ 569. I will wait
For 6 months.
I really believe it was because I have a recent secured
Loan that is reporting on equifax as 90 days past due. I refuse
To pay them because they have been coming to my job and
Calling harassing me. I am talking to a attorney about it.
