Hi all, I'm a long time lurker but first time poster. I am currently in rebuild mode. I burnt AMEX in a bankruptcy back in 2012. They haven't forgotten as I cannot get approved for any of their card through their site. I was wondering if individuals are held to the same approval process by going through NavyFed as they would going through AMEX directly? My history with Navy is decent as I was just instant approved for the CashRewards Sig for 15K. I really like the benefits of the NFCU AMEX but am nervouse I will get declined due to the history with AMEX.
Your thoughts please!!!

Good news: Your history with AmEx won't blacklist you from any NFCU card.
Bad news: With those scores, I would wait 6 months at least between NFCU apps.

Yes I was planning on waiting. I'm also waiting for my nRewards to graduate (hoping for Oct/Nov time frame). At the moment my util is high but im sure to see an increase in score once the Cash Rewards gets reported - my util should be 10-15%. I was thinking about app'ing in early part of 2019 for the more rewards amex.
