So last Friday I made a account with NFCU and today I apped for the cashrewards card and was approved with a 12k limit and 10.65% apr. I also applied for Navcheck and asked for the highest amount as suggested on here. They called and asked a few questions about my income and then told me they would let me know in a hour or two. They never called back so I called them and I was told that it was denied. Do they deny when they make a counter offer or is it going to be denied? (They wouldn't say and said the letter would state the reasoning) Also they pulled from TU and Equifax for the Navcheck. Is that typical to pull for both? (They pulled equifax for the cc too, which was expected) My equifax is much higher than my TU as a bad account has fallen off there already and TU is about to fall off in around 2 months. Thanks

They counter offer when it is available, or at least they did for me. I applied by phone though, asked for $15k, and they came back with much less ($3.5k). I gladly accepted, as they wouldn't give me ANY unsecured card at the time, and I only had a secured card for one month at the time.
I suspect you were denied and won't get a counter offer.
The credit card and CLOC folks are in completely different departments and use different criteria.
Use and pay your card (enjoy your 12k limit!) and try again for the CLOC in a couple months! They are super-generous, but sometimes take a bit of time to warm up to new members.
they usually counter but sometimes I have read that they didn't for initial approval and you have to just apply again for less.... I would submit another app right now for $5k and see what happens... they should use INQ's from yesterday.
