NFCU Secured Card process

Hello! I was recently approved for a NFCU nRewards secured card. I've been reading some threads on here concerning what to do next (at the 91/3 mark), but I'm a bit confused as I've heard mixed comments about CLI and applying for another unsecured card, etc. If I'm lucky and graduate early at 3 months, do I apply for a new credit card then? Do I ask for CLI instead? Or both? Also, what can I do with this card to help improve my chances of early graduation? I put $200 on the card, what tends to be the next limit after graduation?

Thank you!

Re: NFCU Secured Card process

Well, at 3 months usually you can qualify for an auto-CLI, but I haven't seen too many (any?) graduations that soon. The earliest I've seen it graduate is at 6 months. From the nSecured CC page on Navy's site.  Anyway at 91/3, you can do both, apply for another card and ask for CLI, generally. They say to generally apply for new card first, and then ask for CLI.

To improve chances of graduation, from the DPs I've read on here, is lots of usage, large payments, and letting only a small balance report.

The next limit can vary, though many people seem to get bumped up to $2k it seems.
