No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
The primary advantage to getting a credit card through them is that they give out huge limits, even to people with weak credit.
I joined them at the end of June. I had a huge amount of charge offs and collections fall off my report through the spring. I still had one judgement, one collection and one chargeoff showing and zero open revolving credit accounts. My EQ Fico 08 was at 655 and Fico 04 score was at 700. Navy approved me for a 14K Cash Rewards Signature Visa, a 10K CLOC and though originally denied they reversed their decision and also gave me a 2K MC as well. Does that give you an idea of how generous they can be and willing to overlook past credit issues for new members. They have been great to deal with and I have a local branch. The service I've gotten there has been a night and day difference from my past couple of years with BB&T. What are you EQ Fico 04 scores? Those are the mortgage lending scores that show as the EQ Score 5. That's what NFCU will use for scoring purposes for any type of credit products.
OUSTANDING CU for EVERYTHING!!!! DO NOT and I mean DO NOT burn them.....they are NOT forgiving...with that being said, GOOD LUCK!
NFCU has VERY competitive rates on a variety of products (credit cards, auto loans, mortgages, checking, etc). Their customer service has been top-notch as well.
Back in March I joined NFCU, we have since refinanced our car (cut interest several points) and established them as our primary bank (was with Chase for over 15 years). We decided to make them our primary bank because they have fantastic customer service and few if any fees. We have no regrets, they are the largest credit union (double the next largest) for a reason. We havent had great luck on getting approved for good credit cards because of an IRS lien and the fact that we are still rebuilding but I am confident that we will get decent cards in a few months. I don't know that they will be any better to build your scores, there are a lot of variables with FICO scores but NFCU is a credit union that seems to reward relationships.
