I dont know about Penfed but I just joined NFCU two weeks ago and they have done three credit inquiries already.  One when I applied to join, one the next day after I join when I apply for a car loan (approved) and the third time when I applied for a Platinum CC (approved after recon).  My credit score went down because of the inquiries but Im happy driving my new car with a CC soon to arrive!

Was thinking of going with either or for car loan and next cc but **bleep** I already have borderline 20 inquiries across the board. Wondering which one to do and when to plan it. I know navy can sometimes be a few week process if it goes to verification and review to join. I'm already a part of penfed but haven't opened any lines of credit through them. Was previously approved for a car loan though. Score is probably higher now as opposed to when I first joined back in August
