Sounds like they gave you a reason for denial.

Most people posting about large limits on NFCU cards tend to receive those limits on second cards. First cards with them often sway towards lower CLs. The Flagship has a minimum CL of $5000.

Try for one of their other cards and you might see success. Double back to the Flagship in 6 months or so then.

I got 8k limit with them when my Fico Score was in the 500s.  I wonder if the OP has high DTI.

Re: NFCU flagship denial help

Banks by law only have to give a reason why they deny you. There’s nothing in the law that says it has to be detailed. Stating you don’t meet their minimum requirement for a specific card is reason enough.

I suggest stop comparing yourself to others. It’ll just drive you bonkers. Get a card because you want the card, not because others got the card at what you perceive as a worse profile than yours.

NFCU is a relationship bank. They don’t know you or your spend habits yet. In time, they will reward you for being a member. So give them a chance to know you and you won’t regret it.

I guess the fustrating part like had meantioned , usually when I have gotten a denial it says your denied because to many INQ so you know wait until some drop off before applying again, or you have to many new accounts, so you wait until the new accounts age, or your credit score is to low etc. In this case their reason of them saying I don’t qualify for the min limit of the card, but to know what aspect of my profile doesn’t meet that minimum requirement.

Agreed will make you nuts but Like everyone else on here that compares Data Points, you see people post on here, to try and compare to see where you may stand.

was specify looking to get the flagship
Card for up coming travel.
