Re: Navy A/R has been done

I got the 3-5 day message. This is weird, my credit score has gone up 30+ points since I got the card and I always PIF. Oh well.

I also got the 3-5 day message...I had them cancel my request and they did it no problem...sent a SM..my last CLI was 4/18 so maybe because I'm early? No worries I want to pay more down on my balance anyways... Hopefully I'll get one soon :-)

Sucks. I'm honestly surprised because I haven't had a CLI yet, 0 balance, 3rd statement cut a few weeks ago, etc etc. My income certainly supports more than a $6k line. I was really only looking to get $10k, nothing insane. Guess I'll wait and try again.

if 3rd statement was a few weeks ago and the AR was only last week you are one of those that is falling in between AR's and will need to wait until the next AR.

My general rule of thinking is 3 statements minimum AND after an AR that has happened AFTER those 3 statement minimums.  The AR's generally happen every 2 months so some are able to get the CLI as early as 3 statements exactly because they got the card in the middle of an AR for the rest of us, so 3 falls right in the new AR... you are in the odd month though.

The 3rd statement cut on 6/14. The A/R wasn't until 6/30, which is a 16 day buffer. Is that not enough? I opened the card on 3/17 if it matters. When should I try it again? 2 months?

This isn't set in stone as I don't know Navy exactly but clearly it didn't work for you so when you ask is that enough of a buffer I think you have your answer!

I wasn't asking in terms of getting the CLI, I was asking if that indeed fit the criteria you mentioned...since I thought it did and your reply indicated it might not have.

Anyway, just some data for others. The 3 statements/AR doesn't always work.  I have put about $2,500 spend through the card, not sure if I will continue that pace.

Oh right, sorry was processing backwards in my head! Smiley Tongue

I didn't get my first CLI until I think 5 statements... it was really slow for me in the beginning and then all of a sudden they started letting me have some!

Cool, and it's all good. Thanks for the advice in any case. I'll give it a try after the next AR. Thankfully I don't need the CLI, I've just never had one so I was excited to finally have proof of my hard ass rebuilding work. I'll be in the driver's seat soon enough.

I received the 3 - 5 day notice as well. However, when I called to cancel the guy said a hard pull is done immediately. Now I'm confused. Should I call back and see what another rep says instead?

you can try to send a secure message that you would like the request withdrawn. (it's never a sure thing.)

I had conference calls and by the time I did it was too late and I was denied. Therefore, I sent a message asking for reconsideration and gave the various points of why I felt I deserved an increase even if it's not for the full amount. This worked and I was immediately approved for an increase of $3k. Now I'm sitting at $10k. I'm happy. I didn't realize until after the fact that even though I was initially approved for the card in January. I only had 3 statements and not five like I thought since I was nervous about using (repairing my credit) and it sat in a drawer for at least a month!. So, I probably should have waited until next month before requesting the CLI. Definitely happy it worked out for me the way it did and it all happened because of you guys. Reading all of the various posts gave me the courage to even apply for it in the first place.
