I recently applied for a CLI on my unsecured cashRewards Visa, the card has a $2400 limit.  My other card with Navy is the More Rewards Amex with a $4900 limit.  I was denied the CLI and received a letter saying I've reached the maximum unsecured credit limit with Navy FCU.  I feel like I've seen much higher individual limits than $7300 on signatures from other forum members, let alone an overall total.  Is this a bucketing issue or what's going on?

Re: Navy FCU CLI Decline

I agree with others; time and relationship.  My first app (cash rewards) was $5k, then to $15K then to $25K to max out.  Then opened a MC for $5k then to $11K then to $25K.

Then they sent me a mailer for the Platinum Visa so I app'd and awared SL $8K.  A few months later, I hit the luv button but I received hate mail.  "Max credit".

I have a $40K auto loan since 2018.  I use NFCU for BTs and some auto-pays.  I have not tried the luv button in about a year or so.    My F'08 scores are all about 800.  My UTIL is 8%, my DTI is about 25%.
