Yes NFCU doesn't use Chexsystems. I also read that they really don't care about your past credit either when becoming a member (not CCs) when they do a HP it's mainly just to make sure you didn't screw them in the past.

Also being on Chexsystems is not only for writing bad checks. Over drafting a back account only once can put u on there even if you paid it back. Also when you get preapproval from NFCU it doesn't tell you how much. For example mine just said I was preselected. I had to go through the application process still and still take a HP to get approved and to find out my limit and APR

I have baddies on every report that is out there ---- if I can get in to NFCU -- I am sure anyone can. I app'd as a DOD civilian employee -- because I worked at a grocery store on base TEN years ago...

Approved us Jointly for Nrewards $1500 -- My app for Cashrewards was denied

Approved DH Cashrewards (he had pre-approval on log in) $2000 at 11%

Cap1 approved me after burning them 3 times --  $300 CL. ( i got like 5 mailers a week, finally pulled the trigger!)

Approved us joint at Honda Christmas Eve for 2012 Honda Fury $9500 - no down payment, didn't even have to provide paystubs. 14% APR. Pulled EQ - said my score was 688 and DH was 682.

Cap 1 approved DH for second card - $1000. Gonna chat to see if I can get it increased, or at least get an early increase on QS from $750 to match.

I think its been a good week!! All happened in the days leading and following Christmas.

I signed my nephew up first, then my brother, then myself.  I got another auto loan pre approval.  No cc pre approval.  A rep called me today and asked me if I wanted a checking account.  I told her not if it was a hard pull.  She said they would use the same pull as my savings account.  Now I have 7 bank accounts to maintain.  Should not be that hard since most say the inactivity fees only kick in after 1 year of no use.

I'm going to let my new credit cards age quite a while before applying for a Visa from Navy or NASA.
