So I joined NFCU last week,. I know its a HP on my report. I asked the representative since the already pulled for membership, is it another pull for apping for a CC, and she said yes it is. Hmmm I'm confused, I've read on here that it will be the saame pull. Anyone defintely know the correct answer?
It's a separate pull for every product w/ NFCU, including membership.
The CSR is correct. It will be another HP for a CC app. Navy loves to HP.
Just my experience - I opened an account with them last month. It was a TU HP for checking / savings membership. When I applied for a CC later that week, it was an EQ HP.
I am so excited to be with them. I was declined for their CC, but I kind of expected that. I have a lot of things pending updates on my CR. I will wait a few months and app again when my score is higher.
Congrats on getting in!
Congrats on getting in... yeah you might want to work on your score before you app again. You can always get a secured card to start your relationship with them.

Secured Card, hmmm what kind of score do you need? Even after my app spree, so far MYFico is keeping my scores the same EQ 680, Trans685, EXp 742. I did loose 2 points on Experian.

my experience was very different. i was on the phone, told them i wanted an auto loan and they said i needed to do membership first. they said if my credit is good then i can get membership immediately and then do my auto. i was granted membership that day and did my app for my auto loan in the same phone call with the same credit pull and got my approval for it that night as well.
That was pretty good! I just apped last week, why not use the same CR, LOL!
from my experience, it is a different pull for everything. as previously mentioned, HP for membership, and ANOTHER pull for CC application
If thats the golden rule then it is what is. So what kind of scores are needed? No Baddies on my CR, but do have new acct's, low limits on all my cards.
