Its rare to see those in your offers. Im not sure preapprovals exist with Navy but if its a card worth it to you, you can always apply and see what happens.

I can cofirm that preapprovals exist- when I called to do my application over the phone, they asked if I had a preapproval code!

I didn't have one, but they asked if I did have one.  I just prefer to do some CC apps over the phone with a live person.
Now I wonder if I did have one and just had no clue where to find it!  Smiley LOL
Honestly, watching all of the approvals on here this past week helped me to ultimately decide to give it a go.

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

Was checking myfico this morning for my weekly updates and saw a $1500 CLI to my CR. It's now $11500 all auto. Folks may see more auto cli. I haven't ask for one since May 2017 and have use the card a lot in spurts. My TU and EQ are 702 and 699. UTI is about 17%

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

Ok so update on co-worker who received the CR credit card without applying for it.  I asked for more detail and he was adamant they never even discussed credit cards, he said he didn't discuss much of anything with the guy he just opened the account with information asked.

Not sure what could have happened exept the CSR decided on his own to put the application in or hit a wrong button.  Hopefully this isn't a new thing for them but being Navy I am pretty sure this is a fluke.

It worked out all right for him in the end as he needed a 3rd card to help rebuild his credit and it wasn't another HP.  But definitely not something we want to see them doing, had he not wanted the card he would have been very upset.

NFCU Credit Card Data

Hello all,

I just got off the phone with a cust svc rep and a person in loan department. I was calling about the maximum possible credit limit on the Secured card. I tried to pepper in some useful questions.

"What's the possible maximimum deposit for a secured?"

"All cards except the Flagship have a maximum possible limit of 50k. Flagship's is 80k. Secured card used to be in the 50k card group but they changed it to special 5k limit"

"Can I change my card product after graduation? I'm more of a cash back person."

"Absolutely"

"I noticed you ran my TU for card application but show my my Equifax online. Which do you use to monitor for graduation and limit increases?"

"We use Experian"

"I was told you have a pledge loan that doesn't require a hard pull but reports. Is that true and what are the minimum terms?"

"Yes we offer that loan. You have to call or go in to a branch. Min. terms are 250$  for 6 months."

"I already have a loan like the with my other smaller credit union. The only reason I would get one of those loans is if it helps my application for other products with NFCU. Would it?"

"Absolutely. We look at all previous and current accounts you have with us and how you handled them when making our decisions."

I know people call and get different answers from different reps; just thought this info might help someone out there like the forums have helped me.
