I applied for a Cap One product and got an email saying they needed clarification on an alert placed on my credit file. I called them and they told me I have fraud alerts and the phone number associated with it, is not valid. I called all the bureau's and they told me either I don't have the alert plaed or the phone number is my current one. Any recommendations on what I should do?
I would pull the 3B and see what's reporting, just to be sure.
I did. It shows my phone number and I dont see any alerts.
Does 3B report alerts? I would try www.annualcreditreport.com.
