Need help planning for apps

Hello all! DH and I are closing on a new house this week after 6 months of intense credit bldg. still more to do for sure, but super happy where we've come since last fall.

I'd love some advice on cards, etc. DH has scores 655-680 and mine are 615-665. I have one collection being deleted this week, and hoping to get another deleted (waiting on call).

DH - a few 30-day lates split between 2 car loans (1 loan is paid and 2 years since late, other is open with late in Dec). He is an AU on my Amex but that's only credit card. He also has student loans in good standing, one other car loan (10/14) in good standing and a personal loan (12/14). He has one small medical collection and one small Internet collection open, then one closed collection.

I have the same car loans, Amex (good standing since 2010) and student loans with 2 lates from 2012...and the bane of my existence is a First Premier (open but 10 lates as recent as Feb due to being unemployed) and a paid charge off with Fingerhut on EQ and TU. I have one unpaid small medical collection on EX and EQ.

Combined income is $140k+ and DH is a veteran.

#1 priority is Lowe's, likely with DH apping.

Was planning for both of us to try for CapOne (but which card? Venture is preferable for travel but open to best SL)

Also considering USAA, Marriott, Discover IT or a new AmEx (since current is Optima with only $1k). and/or store card for Pottery Barn and Amazon.

Our goals are to build credit scores 700+, as well as available CL, while still purchasing some things for the new house. Would like travel and/or cash back rewards. And we hope to refinance 1 or both cars in the next 3-6 months.

Thanks in advance for suggestions! MyFico is the only reason we're in the place we are today. If you asked me 6-12 months ago if I thought we'd be buying a house now, I'd say you were crazy!
