Hello everyone.
So here's my current situation. My credit is currently the highest it's ever been right now. Not great but I think it's considered pretty average. Been going at it for about a year and half trying to repair my credit. I'm so excited! My current scores are EQ 664 TRANS 657 EXP 692 according to the 3 score report one time I pulled yesterday. I refinanced my car yesterday with my credit union and my apr dropped from 12% to 4.24%. HUGE difference. I actually started the loan about a year ago at 19%apr lol. I can't even describe how good it feels to reduce my apr drastically in 1 year. My credit union pulled EXP and matched exactly what myfico shows.
So they did do a HP but the INQ has yet to show up. Well I haven't received an alert for it yet. So I'm feeling pretty confident with my credit situation where I feel like I might be able to put in a couple credit applications. Discovery it and Chase Freedom come to mind(any other reccomendations based on my credit scores?). I have applied for both of them back in November and was denied. My score at the time was EQ 660, Transunion and Experian were actually both around 620ish. Pretty low. I shouldn't have gone for it but I did. I was hoping they'd pull EQ but they didn't. One pulled Trans and one pulled Experian.
Question is should I apply for both at the same time? Or should I space them out? It's only been 4 months since I last applied do they frown upon applying so soon? I hope to get at least 1 of these cards and just garden for a year or two. But I do want to apply for more than just these 2 cards. I currently have 2 capital one(classic and quicksilver) that I've had for around 7-8 months. They both have 3,300 limit each. I have a credit union credit card that was opened around 1 year and a half. Kohls card that is about to be 1 year. Express card that is around 4 months old. Finger hut is around 8 months. I haven't app'd for anything else since november except for refinancing my car.
How should I go bout this? I really want to just apply now and not touch anything for a while. Hoping to apply for a house a little over a year from now and having a good amount of credit cards with at least 1 year age on them. I know people recommend 2 years minimum but I'll take the chance of waiting a little over a year. Especially if I stay on point with them.
Any other recommendations other than Chase and Discover?
Thanks guys!
Sorry if these post feels rushed. I'm at work and typed it up real quick. If any more information is needed to give a better suggestion please do ask.
If you're going to ap, go for both at the same time. That way the inquiries will age off at the same time. But, your odds of approval involve more than just your credit scores. How many inquiries do you have in your EQ and EX files? Those are the two that are likely to be pulled. What bad entries do you have in your files, and how old are the entries?
I have quite of few inquires. Although the last ones for a credit card were back in November for Chase and Discover. INQ ranging from 1 year ago to today are 10 on transunion and 8 on Experian.I have only 1 collection on both my EXP and Trans report dating August 2014. Although I am in the process of getting this removed. An Ex GF of mine used my SS to open up an electrical utily bill that went unpaid and got sent to collections. So ID Fraud. I have filed a police report and are taking the required steps to get this removed. I probably have about 1 age AAoA total. Oldest account being 1 year and a half.
Any other options besides Discover and Chase I can try to go for as well?
Thanks.

I think with the collection being that recent, combined with the number of inquiries and your current scores, your odds right now are not good for any prime card. I'd wait until the collection is gone and the inquires are a little older.
