Hi I am Javis I am new to this forum & the credit building scene. My new years resolution was to improve my credit score by the end of the year. I have never had any credit cards, loans, or any deliquent bills or collections in my name. My Aunt added me to her Capital One Account with a $300 limit in October, 2015. I recently applied for a Care Credit Account and was approved for $10,000. I plan to use about $4500 on dental work for myself but I also want to apply for more credit cards before I have the dental work done so that my debt ratio isnt so high. I do not need my dental work immediately I can suspend it up to 6 months. My question is which cards would you all suggest I apply for & how long should I wait before applying for them? I only have 1 inquiry on my TU, none on EX or EQ. My scores are TU- 721 EQ-710
Did you check cap1 prequal? you sound good for a quicksilver visa. Also amex and discover are good at people with thin files and good scores starting out with a little history.
No I havent tried capital one yet. Should I apply immediately I just received my care credit card last week?
Do a little research on a card that will do you good. Banks like Discover, Amex and even Bank of America will let people in with thin files. Chase likes to see a year of your own credit useage before approving.
I wouldnt jump the gun on any card. but check the prequals and see whats out there. And then decide what benefits are good for you.
thank you
