New (?) Amex CLI timeline policy

Hi All,

Had an online chat with an Amex rep and leared something new.  To set context I asked if applying for a pay-over-time limit increase on my Platinum Card would require that I wait another 90 days in order to apply for a CLI on my Hilton Aspire card.  Here is the repsonse I received - "Actually, we no longer have specific time frame for this request. The 95 days waiting time is only applicable for new cards (less than 6 months tenure with AMEX)." I then asked about the frequency for CLI's and was told, "You can check back in every 60 days and we will run a request for you."

I'm just over 60 days since my first CLI in May and still not able to apply for another one but I assume its due to my Aspire account only being five months old.

Just thought I'd share this info.

Applying for a CLI on your Platinum card (you can do this?) won't affect your ability to request a CLI on your Hilton card. Each card is treated independently regarding the 90 day time frame to obtain a CLI.

Maybe one can call in to request a CLI before the 90 days, but the website still seems to be limited to 90 days. I just checked my BCP that was raised a couple months back, and I got the message that I recently received an increase so it's not available at the moment.

Current active cards:
Amex - Platinum, BCP
BofA - Unlimited Cash Rewards Sig
Chase - CSR, Amazon Prime, United Explorer
Citi - Custom Cash, Costco Visa
TCL - $370k
CC utili - 2%
Experian - 818

Re: New (?) Amex CLI timeline policy

You can request a "Pay Over Time" Limit Increase for the Platinum card.

@donze724 Just curious, what is the highest POT balance you've ever carried at one point?

Re: New (?) Amex CLI timeline policy

I have not used more than $3k for pay-over-time.
