I was approved for Chase Hyatt after apping on 3/13. Went through the 2 weeks message deal, approved on 3/28. I really agonized over the app. I was torn between the Hyatt and United card and took into consideration the rumored coming of 5/24 for cobranded cards.
So now I'm watching the forums to see what will happen this month... will we start seeing application denials on cobranded cards? I am still interested in the United card, but am not willing to take the risk right now. I've opened 4 cards with Chase in the last 12 months. I plan to stay off the radar for a while. But would like to add United at the end of the year...
Love to hear from people with new apps and apps pending and what the outcome is.
I believe people are on the radar is because they are ruuning their cards thru the roof! Not because you have 2/3+ cards with them. Simply put, manage your credit wisely and you won't be on a radar!
I can't imagine getting approved for a new CSP with a SL of $15k and then immediately after getting the card running 10k thru it. That's foolish. Pay it off right away or not. Us your common sense. People that are somewhere near or over 50% of their UTI of all of their Chase cards are on the radars.
And then they go apply for more... because they have this top of the line credit score - BING BING BING!. And these are the peple that are in huge debt filing bankruptcy in 2-3 years after attaining all of these huge SLs.
I've read the horror stories, and it can happen to anyone. Just because someone posts on here that their record is squeaky clean and they haven't done anything wrong to warrant an audit, does not mean it's true. If it doesn't make sense, it's not true!
My first Chase card, the Freedom. I received last week. I put about $250 thru it for the entire weekend, and paid it off. Now it's back to the full limit. I would never run up 50% of the SL in one sitting.
Now i'm working on the Amazon and Slate cards.
If your record warrants multiple apps, you know that you can manage multiple cards successfully, and you know the information in the file pulled is not conflicting with the 5/24, why would you not apply and take 1 hit for all of your apps (within 30 days)?
There is nothing to be afraid of if you have done nothing wrong. Don't let peple scare you becuse of what they heard!
