I'm 8/12, she's 5/12... but will be 2/12 in sixty days or so.
She just met the SUB for her current grocery card. (Bank of the West)
We don't really NEED anything, but I'm considering her for the new Citi card, or the new Wells Fargo card...both of which have $200 SUBs that we'll easily meet organically.
Her Experian Fico 8 is 763, Trans Union Fico 8 is 780, and Equifax credit card score is 804.
Your thoughts?
I'd vote the Citi Custom Cash card if it's between those two. It should have more utility (number of potential 5% rewards) than the Active Cash card and cash redemptions are made easier now as a bonus

I can't remember... does Citi have a 5/12 rule or something similar?

Nothing your wife will have to worry about I'm sure. I know Citi doesn't like many recent hardpulls but no definitive numbers. But basically if the person has been recently app happy it could give them pause. Assuming your wife will be 2/12 in the next few months then I wouldn't be concerned. With that said Citi can be finicky and it's shown with the the few denial datapoints shared in the big Custom Cash thread
Chase Freedom xxx. $200 SUB plus 5% groceries for a year.
Outside of that, I'd go for citibank. Just my 2 Ficos
I'd agree with @simplynoir . I got the Custom Cash about weeks ago, I think the rewards structure would be perfect for you two.
All of our kids are out of the house like yours recently, the grocery bills are feeling it lol.
The $500 cap is close enough to what we spend in a month at the grocery store to make this card pretty tight.
The SUB is an easy one also, $750 spend in 3 months for $200 is quick cash in the pocket.
Good luck and let us know!

Thank you, but she's 7/24 and 5/12... nothing Chase is happening without a preapproval that she doesn't have. I just checked! ![]()
Welp.
Citi said no.
Wells Fargo said yes.
New thread in approvals.
