Nfcu what one

I'll be making an app to NFCU after I close on my house at the end of the month

I read somewhere that the second card with them usually is higher limits.  Is that true.  Seems odd if it is

rewards vs. More rewards

im leaning to more rewards with the sub but wanted to see if there was any truth to the above.

also I have an Amex already and does that factor into SL

Starting Score: 652/644/654 (March 2019)

Yea - there's truth to the '2nd card gets a higher SL'  school of thought -- supported by countless data points on the NFCU Additional Card and CLI Master Thread:

https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Applications/Navy-Federal-Thread-for-CLI-and-Additional...

(just skip to the last 50 or so pages to get most recent data...)

It's not odd at all once you realize NFCU a relationship-driven credit union.   The first card is like a starter - used to build trust in your relationship and by the 2nd card - they know & trust you...

NFCU doesn't seem to consider limits from other lenders much - if at all.   They really only care about your accounts/limits with them because those factor into determining your max internal credit limit and thus, starting limits.   Navy is most concerned about your relationship with them, DTI, and your internal score.

Take some time to browse the master thread and Good Luck!

An AMEX from AMEX is not at all related to NFCU AMEX other than the fact that they share a network (both are accepted at the same places).

Desired BK recovery line up complete 7/12/2021. Planning to garden until 8/2023 and potentially try for AMEX.
