Re: No Amex Offers - Advice?

What are your denial reasons that Amex sent you? Unless I missed it, I didn't see you post what Amex is saying in denying you a CLI. You suspect it is short history, but is that what is in the letters?

You have a lot of young accounts is the only thing I can think off, unless utilization is high or lack of real estate.

Give it time.

Lack of real estate would probably be it.

Re: No Amex Offers - Advice?

Please clarify what you mean by lack of real estate? Do you mean installment loan or is there an actual penalty for not owning property?

I do not own any physical real estate. I currently have a 5 yr SSL with NFCU paid down to 93%.

Re: No Amex Offers - Advice?

For your AU accounts.

Do you share the same address as the AU accounts? Are there other AU on those AU accounts? You have a very young account with 3 AUs and have opened up a good amount of cards since opening up your AMEX. I might guess that it is a high risk account for various reasons and maybe even fraud in AMEX's eyes.

Same address, and by family relationship. Uncertain as to why they're hesitant, besides the age thing. Would really like to get a travel card, as my Amex ED rarely sees any use.

How does Amex feel about Synchrony?  Aren't they considered consumer finance accounts?  When I glanced at yourprofile that's what jumped out at me.

ot a problem.

The fact that several of the cards that OP has opened in the last year were issued by Synchrony would be a non-issue.

ED won't be eligible for an upgrade until after September 23rd.  One can't legally upgrade a card to another one with a bigger AF until they've held it for at least a year.

OP has a young profile and has opened up about 8 cards in his name in the last year.   In AMEX' eyes he needs to cool his jets for a while and maintain the status quo including prompt full payments on his accounts.

If you don't share an address with au they consider it fraud? Why?
