A little background...
Discharged Ch 13 May 2013
Approved Barclays Apple Sept 2013 $1200 TU FICO 630 (auto CLI to $2200 at 6 months)
Approved Barclays Sallie Mae December 2014 $4500 TU FICO 666
I closed the Apple and moved the limit over.
My $6700 Sallie Mae 6 month statement cut yesterday... no love. A bit odd considering it's been my go to card. I've used the card for 30-60 transactions each month... $1000-$5000 spend and PIF. The only thing I can think of is they didn't like the 3 accounts I opened in December after Sallie Mae (Discover, AmEx, Nordstrom)... and the 2 accounts I opened in March (Venture, Sam's MC).
I've also seen reports of people getting auto love at 7 months... so we'll see what happens next month. Either way $6700 is a nice limit and I definitely won't be burning a HP asking for a CLI. They can give me some auto love. ![]()
I can't remember who told me - but I was told to wait until July, after that statement cut to see if i get a SP CLI. I also got my card in December 2014
Thanks for the tip! Will see what happens next month!
Date Opened: 05/07/2014
Credit Limit: Credit limit of $4,400 from 05/2014 to 11/2014; $8,400 from 12/2014 to 04/2015
Don't remember the exact date I got my auto CLI on, but it was after the six month mark just looking at the credit report, didn't update till December statement.
ETA: looked at statements, first one June, got CLI on December. 7th statement.

Awesome thanks for looking into that.
I'll hold off on the disappointment and see what happens with my 7th statement next month. ![]()

This is a perfect example of the fact that it is NOT just credit score, (as many seem to think). I got my Sallie Mae in April with a TU score of 800, and I had to recon to get a $2000 limit.

I totally agree.
I've always said Barclays likes to see history... and history with their cards definitely helps. I am 100% certain I would not have gotten the Sallie Mae with the limit I was approved for with my TU score in the 660's without my previous 16 months history with their Apple card.
It was an instant approval and then a 5 minute call to backdoor # moved my Apple CL over. The fact I gardened for all of 2014 prior to applying didn't hurt either. I had no new accounts or INQs in a year.
Sometimes you have to start small (Apple) to get the goal (Sallie Mae). ![]()

Here's the kicker. I had over 5 years of perfect history with Barclays. The problem was too many new accounts. My profile looks weird because I didn't apply for any credit cards between January 2010 and April 2014. Then I was suddenly loading up, with several of those coming this year. The analyst found this to be very strange.
I have another kicker to add. Barclays only pulls EX credit report when I apply.
