I week ago I was at Best Buy shopping for a new TV and I wanted to take advantage of the 24 month no interest. So I applied and I actually was needed to talk to the creditor on the phone. Ok, Thought I just needed to verify info...Well They asked for my SS# again and then told me at this time, bluh bluih bluh....
Today, I got the letter in the mail and I opened it and it was not a denail but an incomplete application and they wanted me to call them to finish it up. I called them and after givng them all my info the lady was asking me if this was my SS#...I said yes. She then told me I do not have a credit file on EQ...I was like ummm, I see it everyday as I am on Myfico.com....She then told me that in order for them to do a pull, I have to call EQ and clear it up...So I called them up and they were as baffled as I was. They told me there is nothing wrong with my file and creditors should have no problem pulling it as there is not a freeze on it.
I am at a complete loss for words, not sure what to do from here...Has anyone seen this before and if so, how was it remedied?

OP. I am having the same problem as of yesterday. My bank has tried Equisux for 2 days. I even went by the branch with a 1B pull today to show there is no fraud, freeze, nothing on my file. They gave me a number to calI Equisux yesterday. Nothing on my file to stop a creditor they said. I started a thread that the online dispute is down. I wanted to see if there was a problem. Nothing. Now your the second person having the same problem.
Equifax is the most prone CRA for issues as I just fought with them about a month ago to fix my file and had to goto the EO route and they sounded ticket how I got their #.. Long story short I ended up having a split file and it had to be fixed. Many things can cause a split file and EQ is famous for them. I would start out by calling the Dispute center and see if they can see what the cause is and mention is it a possible split file if no success keep on barking up the EQ chain. They certainly are a PITA and need to get their stuff together as they are a mess IMO.
After 3 hrs in the branch. Calls from the bank to Equifax, the UW, and the rep who handles my bank at Equifax. Equisux removed my previous address. Back and forth with EQ one blaming the other and so on. I did not give EQ any permission to remove my previous address. Thats insane. My present address just hit 2 yrs. So now I gathered all the proof to fax to them in the am showing where I used to live so they can re-insert it. So each time the bank pulled me it came back as fraud due to only present address on my file. OP try that route. Make sure your addresses are there.Thats why I call them Equisux. Man they unreal. GL!
Thanks For that piece of information...I jsut checked and there was a change of address alert back in July...it added a space to Preserve making it pre serve...UGH...Ok, I will dispute the address change and get that going....thanks for the info on that!!!!
