My sister has no credit file at all but has a checking account with Chase. We applied for the Amazon Rewards VISA. She was instantly denied, but I called Chase recon, and they said it was because an NSF on her checking (an issue with double posting of payment for tuition). We got them to look past it, and the rep said the only thing holding her back from approving the app is address and social security verification. She'll be submitting those tomorrow and I will let you guys know. This would be an incredible first card for her as she buys all her books on Amazon and we have prime.

Hi and welcome to the forums! ![]()
Please keep up updated on the outcome, as it serves for good data points for the community. Wishing her luck (fingers crossed!)
Chase is relationship bank, so that might help, but they are also known to decline for too thin of file or no file. They really like to see at least 1 yr of history first with another creditor, so this would be a big win if she got approved.
