Solid advice - couldn't agree more. Never thought of it like that. Thank you so much for the input.

Lol true but notes ridiculous as it once was
. There are major cc's with 30% + apr now so......![]()
I have this card and it sucks. Nothing good about it and they lie to you. So for example they told me that it was no annual fee... well that's only when you graduate to their BrightWay+ card....The structure is so dumb so I was then told by a rep that you need to make 6 payments to get the the BW+ card and that's also a lie... you do get CLI every 6 months or a reduced rate (you choose) and the CLI I got was laughable and the rate reduction was also a joke. Only after 4 "miles stones" which takes 2 years is when you get the BW+ card with no fee. I just keep it around because I already took a hit for it. I don't use it. Waste.
I just received my first reward after 6 months. My AF is $35 and started with $500. I chose the $100 CLI vs the 0.25% APR reduction. I pay off my cards every month so the CLI made sense for me.
So far I haven't had any issues with it and would say it's a good starter card for those rebuilding or new to credit. Much better than a bucketed Cap1.
I've had a BrightWay card for about a year now and it's probably one of the worst credit card companies I've ever had to deal with.
Here are the reasons:
Continous website technical errors.
Poor website in general.
Almost zero customer service.
Mail in payments (pay off) take forever to process (I'm still waiting a week later)
One Main Financial offices do NOT deal with or handle payments.
Unfortunately, I highly recommend avoiding this card if you don't want chronic stress from trying to get business done with them. I will be canceling this card.
Subprime lenders treat their customers like crap.
I just got another increase at my one year mark. A whopping $50. I went from $500 to $600 to $650. All my other credit line increases from others have been a minimum of $100 to $1500. You would think they would offer the $100 at least again. My credit has improved too.

$75 for a card that gets 1% back? Nope, always pass on these predatory card offers.
Better than some. At least they do cashback for those trying to improve your credit. I've seen worse.
Aspire is one that I closed after a year.
