I got my denial letter in the mail yesterday. I called the recon number on the sticky page at 9 this morning and it was a no-go, the second lady was able to transfer me to another department and the guy went over two of the three reports that were pulled and asked some questions. He put me on hold for about five minutes and came back and approved me for the secured version! He emailed me a link and stayed on the phone with me to fund the account with my discover savings account. Very excited. Thank you to everyone for encouraging me to call!
What was the reasons listed on the denial letter and scores if you don't mind sharing this info.

Congrats on the recon, at least now it feels like you got something out of the triple pull!

bet if you would of applied in another few months and turned down the secure card you would of probably got an unsecured card... It all worked out though as it will unsecure after a year.. congrats on at least not wasting the 3 pulls
Congrats. agreed. show lots of usage and they will unsecure.from what i read. whatever limit you put on it is what they will do when it unsecures. So don't be too tight. with like a $200 limit. put some beef on it. whatever you can
Congrats on the eventual secured approval
Its weird how they do approvals.
They triple pulled me as well but gave me the modified (not 0% apr) version at 1300. (less than a year later, its at 2700 with 2 clis so far)
My report was worse than yours, 2 collections, lots of new accounts, lots of inquiries, 4 judgements. Was about 660s fico at the time, averaged.
I think why I got it was my AAoA was pretty good from a few very very old closed accounts.
I dont know why they bother pulling all 3 reports though
For me, it was just 3 reports of the same exact info!
I'm glad this ended well for you Water, especially after a triple pull!
