Hi, I completed the pre approval application and they said I would hear something in 10 days. Does that mean I was denied? Is there a number to call? I tried the Overstock Comenity number but they keep sending me to a recording. Also, will they be contacting me with the decision via email or postal?

Hello and welcome.

I don't think the notice is necessarily a denial. I'm not too familiar with Comenity's policies when you're given the 10 day notice, but oftentimes issuers say that when they merely require additional information before proceeding. This request for additional info, or the denial letter if it is indeed a denial, will come via snail mail.

Hello @MsAutumn, welcome to the forums.

As mentioned upthread, a 7-10 message is not always a denial. Unfortunately, there is no UW or backdoor number to contact Comenity for additional information regarding your application. All decisions are typically handled by snail mail.

Update this thread when you receive confirmation on the outcome of your application.

@MsAutumn You stated that you completed the pre approval application. So even if you end up getting bad news, the good news is pre approvals only perform a soft pull on your credit. So this means you did not harm your credit by checking.

You bet!

If you receive a letter requesting additional verification, there will be a number listed to contact them and a reference #.

Just be aware that they'll ask you a variety of verification questions that can be associated with either public records or your credit reports.

I still haven't heard anything. They said they would resend it but nothing has come. I can't even try to prequalify again the site won't let me smh
