PC a subprime card help.

At the begging of my credit journey I started with a QS1 MC. Currently the limit is $1300. After rebuilding, its now my lowest card limit. Its only reaching its 1 year mark, but Cap1 PreQual has me approved for QS Visa Sig & Venture. I know I cant PC from MC to VISA but if I were to PC this card as a QS MC is it still viewed as a subprime card with minimal perks or do I obtain the full usage as if apping for a QS1. I dont mind taking the triple pull since I will simply apply for both QS1 and Venture then transfer the balance from the QS1. What seems to be the better route to take?

Re: PC a subprime card help.

You can PC a quicksilver one MC to a World MC quicksilver, that will give you similar perks to a Visa signature QS. They used to upgrade to World Elite MC's but I have heard they haven't lately, either way you may have to go the EO route to accomplish this. Or you could get a Venture and roll your current quicksilver one into it. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Re: PC a subprime card help.

I would take the triple hit and app for the QS/Venture combo. From what I've read on here, PCing from QS1 to QS still leaves your account in the "subprime bucket" if you will, and makes it very hard for the card to grow. Better off just apping for the new cards instead. In this way you can also get the sign up bonuses.

Last App: 1/10/2023
Penfed Gold Visa Card

Currently rebuilding as of 04/11/2019.

The limit must be at least $5k before requesting it to a QS WMC.

Is this a Capital One requirement? it's certainly not a MasterCard requirment, especially since Capital One issues GM Buypower WEMC's with $300 SL's

Most definately.......Before you lose it.

Cap1 pre-Q is solid as it gets. Good luck.

Whichever route you decide to go...if your QS1 hits the one year mark, I would try to hit the CLI request on the website and see if you get an increase. I have been getting decent 6 month CLI's on my QS1. If you are eventually going to roll this card into a new Cap One card, you may as well take the increase now. Then try again in 6 months which is when the new card will be eligible to combine. I think you'd just be leaving CL on the table for the combined limit if you don't try for the increases.

That makes perfect sense. Forgot about the waiting period to combine the cards. Ok, well the 1 year mark is in Feb. So Ill just wait till then. Ill probably wait to happ for the cards till that time as well. Sense I have the offers on the PreQual I dont imagine them going away. My FICOs are consistently rising. All hovering around 700+ now.
