Wow!
I applied for membership less than 30 days and was approved.
Yesterday I applied for on of their CCs because I read on here that they'd use the same credit pull
if I applied within a certain time frame.
Well I just got an alert from myfico that they did another hard inquiry for this CC application.
Thats sucks... wasn't expecting that... Should I call them about this??

Strange. I checked with them after my auto loan rate shopping last week. They said, they use the same credit report for 90 days for all products. I was thinking of getting new CC from them.
But, now i have to back off applying CC.
It is strange. Most people on here get multiple product with the same pull. I'm just wondering if I call and say something about it, will they remove the inquiry...
pretty sure you have to call in for them to use same pull i'd imagine. thats how DCU is anyway. Call, see if theyll remove it.
They usually use the same pull as mine was used being the same one for 90 days.. You can ask them if they will remove it out of goodwill and hope that they might, but by no means do they have to as you did apply for another product with them. Give them a call up and ask them if they will rmeove it, but be prepared as well to possibly surrender the CC you applied for if they are willing to remove the HP.. Typically HP's are good for 60-90 days with them, have no clue why you were pulled again.

Most people get only soft pulls with NASA. I got hard pulled. Twice. Any time you app you should expect a hard pull.
I would call and ask them if they would change it to a soft pull. Good luck!
For DCU, I requested 2nd HP to be removed because I was assured by a CS representative that applying for the checking account would use the same HP as the membership HP. I would ask Penfed if they could remove the HP and say you thought your membership application HP would be used for 30-60 days.
I have 2 HPs (>90 days apart) from Penfed but received membership, CC, thrifty overdraft, and PLOC in 2014. Maybe Penfed changed their HP policy?

Update-- So I spoke to a Rep., and she explained that it is common to apply for multiple products under the same hard pull within 30 days *BUT* the only way they can guarantee that you don't get repulled is to apply for those product within a 24hr period. Oh well... you live & learn...

Weird as my HP was good for 90 days.... Sucks you got the raw end of the deal there. Get the CC at least? Your scores look good enough where it should of gone though.
