How did you get your stuff notarized? I tried to do this last week, and was told by the notary(bank), that they couldn't do it. My PenFed account is in limbo at the moment.

I have multiple bank accounts and I have noticed that whenever I ask one of them to notarize something they tell me they cant.  I then go to one of the others and the one with the orange sign tells me they can, but the notary is not in.  I then head over to the third one which has some funny commercials about fees, deposits, and such things and they notarize it and send me on the way.  It happens this way every time that I now am transferring most of my banking to them.

I don't know if I can name names so I won't, I will just give hints.

Bank that never does it...   Rhymes with 'race', let's just say say they have Chased me away.

Bank that will do it but never seems to have someone available...  Three letters and I will give you the first and last.  P&C.

Bank that has some funny commercials and always does it.  (This is the hard one)  Something you do in the wild to get food + A lot of weight.

I really hate Hunting around because it's a Ton of work.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

It's fine to "name names" when it comes to banks.  Smiley Happy

I can also add that Wachovia (now Wells Fargo) once told me they won't/can't notarize anything having to do with a will or power of attorney if you have an account with them, since it can lead to a conflict of interest.  Since I assume (?) they only notarize for bank customers that pretty much excludes those categories altogether.

I've been to the DMV a few times to have things notarized... of course that has a laundry-list of its own issues (in my county the wait can be from none at all to over an hour).

In the past I've gone to people at my various workplaces who are authorized to act as notaries public - there always seems to have been at least one of them at every place I've ever worked at! Ask around at your workplace, it's quite possible there's someone in the admin offices who's a notary. Bank of America has also been good for notary services in the past though I've not actually had to use them in a while for that purpose.
