Hi All,
On Friday I applied for (and was approved for) an auto loan through PenFed. After I applied, I went ahead and became a member (thanks, Navy League!). They did a hard pull for the auto loan. Is that same hard pull good if I want to apply for a credit card, too, or will they pull again? I wouldn't mind the Platinum Rewards for the gas...

Okay, thanks!
So worst thing that could happen is a denial with no additional inquiry. Kind've a nobrainer then, hey?

Been reading through the massive PeFed thread, and it looks like I may or may not be approved for a credit card... I have quite a bit of available credit (about $140K), and they seem to not like that recently.
Being denied now won't necessarily hurt my chances with preapprovals in the future, will it?
The silly thing is, if I were to get a decent CL with the Signature card, it would let me close out one or two other cards.
So torn!

No, it will not hurt your chances in the future. They may surprise you!😁
I'm the poster boy for pyramiding debt.😂
They've offered me credit without me asking. You are no different than I.😉
I've been denied by them in the past. It hasn't slowed me down as far as I can tell.
I don't think I'll get anything with my superthin credit file, but PenFed HP'd me for membership last week so whatever!
Promise Visa denial, here I come! lol.

I've been on the fence too. Not sure what a decent CL is to you but they implemeted a $10k CC max for members for their first six months.
OP, PenFed will use the same HP. I would go for it!
You can use the same HP for a CLI on another card.
2 months ago, i was approved for the Pathfinder on the phone (HP), i asked her to use the same HP to increase my Visa Platinum (approved) and my AMEX (approved).
