I guess people aren't really reading the new posts to in-depth now because this is insanity.
A 667 EQ score and he/she still got a $12K credit card and with an MF Guinness Book of World Record 56 EQ inquiries and 23 new accounts opened in the past 12 months!
How does one possibly get 56 inquiries with all three credit bureaus combined never mind 56 on one single credit bureau?
Total EQ Inquiries: 56 <====
Last 12 months: 41 <=====
Last 6 months: 20 <=====
New Accounts in last 12 months: 23

It's not that we're not reading them...but who are we to pass judgement. If the algorithms allow it...then so be it. Lord knows I've had my share of approvals that I'm certain I probably should have been denied for.

Yes I saw that and yes the poster has been busy. However, apparently Penfed felt confident in he/she to give them a chance. So who are we to judge? It is what it is.
My thoughts exactly Baller...I've been on the receiving end of approvals that I thought for sure I wouldn't get. And was happy the system worked out for me...and like OP with all of the inquiries...kudos to them for having the system work in their favor as well!
I almost fell out of my chair. I was expecting to have to recon and offer to move some credit from my cash rewards in order to open this but was greeted by an instant approval for my highest amount. Even DCU instant approved me for $7500 earlier this week.
Personally i'm just making up for some lost time, I messed up my credit when I was 19 and went 4 years without touching it or apping for anything. Penfed was one of the first to approve me for an unsecured card (they're the first of those 23 in the last 12 months) and for $2000. 3 weeks ago I app'd for an auto loan and got approved at their lowest rate but didn't take it. I then clicked the CLI button on my cash rewards and was granted $1K (from $5 to $6K). I have a ton of accounts and INQ's but I use them all heavily for business and other household expenses (going through a reno) and pay them off in full except for a select few.
I've put $2000-3000 a month through penfed and paid it off in full or nearly in full for the past year before getting this. I can't believe penfed of all places would be so generous, especially at their lowest interest rate too.
Of those 23 accounts I would say 7 ish are closed as they were useless, store cards or upgraded, etc. If I had to re-do the past year there might be a few things I would do differently sure, but I learned a ton, helped anyone I could here and quite a few people I know personally and have created quite a bullet proof score. (my new auto loan reported 3 days ago at 100% usage and my score didn't even bat a point)
The good news is : there aren't too many credit cards I could ever even want anymore, a CSP would be nice but is very far off and a citi card would be nice, but those require some gardening. Going to have to look into that.
Oh, I rounded up on the approval.
